WHO WE ARE
Art Mouth is a community of creatives seeking to deepen the connection to their artistic practice through engaging discussion. No matter the medium, artists of all backgrounds and skill levels have a home here. We believe that thoughtful reflection of why we continuously return to our craft is as important as the expression itself. By entering into thoughtful dialogue with other artists, each individual opens the door to greater understanding of the art only they can make.
WHY WE DO IT
All too often artists will go about their work in solitude without a third place to celebrate that effort. While there is much that an artist can achieve independently, Art Mouth demonstrates that each artist is amplified through community. By reflecting on lived experience, each individual shares and receives knowledge that helps all participants flourish.
Articulating the artistic process strengthens one's motivation and creativity. When the artistic process is grounded in clarity, this creates momentum. Through carefully crafted prompts, Art Mouth aims to help fellow artists find their voice. Additionally, listening to others’ statements forms an appreciation and respect beyond the surface level.
WHAT WE DO
Once a month, Matt + Libby guide participants through a themed group discussion. A curated list of questions is provided by moderators to spark thought-provoking conversation. Talking through these topics fosters connection and collaboration among local artists.
We also are beginning to plan additional workshops and group outings to promote connection outside the monthly discussion group. The flow of creativity is ongoing, and it is our goal to support that more frequently.
WHERE DO WE DO THIS
The monthly guided discussion group is held at Good Art Co. The event itself is free, but it is strongly encouraged to get a ticket. Participation is limited to 15 seats so that each voice has plenty of time to be heard.
